Session 2: Machine Learning in IoT
Session Description:
Internet of Things (IoT has become the driving force of the future technological revolution. IoT is the network of tiny to large computing devices. These physical devices are part of our everyday life which produce and exchange massive amounts of data. In different settings, these Big data is required to be filtered, categorized and visualized for meaningful use.
On the other hand, Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence which uses statistical techniques to facilitate computers the ability to "learn" with data, without being explicitly programmed. Therefore, the system progressively improve performance on a specific task. Hence Big data coming from IoT has gained specific attention from Machine learning community.
To design a successful operation with machine learning, fundamentally pattern recognition is used that select a sequence of data to reach a decision or classification. The process of learning begins with observations or data, such as, examples, direct experience, or instruction, to look for patterns in data and make better decisions in the future, based on the models that we provide. The primary aim is to allow the computers to learn automatically without human intervention or assistance and adjust actions accordingly. Hence Big Data in IoT opened new opportunity to interpret physical environment activities in computing terms. Combining machine learning with AI and cognitive technologies can make it even more effective in processing large volumes of information.
